    SECURITY DEVICE
    The invention relates to a security device according to the higher concept of claim 1.
    Such safety devices prevent unauthorized use of, in particular, trailers, whereby the housing is slid onto the upper part fixedly connected to the drawbar of a trailer and secured by means of a lockable latch such that an operation of the handle is attached to the clutch housing is not possible.
    For this purpose, a bolt is guided longitudinally through the housing, for example the key bolt of a padlock, which runs between the coupling housing and the handle, so that it blocks and the upper part of a ball head coupling formed by the handle and the coupling housing is not usable. .
    A similar security device is known, for example, from DE 85 19 623 UI. These and comparable safety devices have hitherto been made of metal sheet by deforming and welding.
    Since such protective devices are usually used outdoors and are thus exposed to the prevailing weather conditions, corrosion protection is required, for example by galvanizing or chroming.
    Generally speaking, these requirements contradict optimized production both in terms of costs and in terms of environmentally friendly manufacturing.
    This circumstance is therefore particularly important because such protective devices are produced and used in large quantities.
    The invention has for its object to further develop a similar security device in such a way that it can be manufactured in a simpler, cheaper and more environmentally friendly manner.
    This object is achieved by a security device with the features of claim 1.
    The invention first and foremost permits an extremely inexpensive manufacture, since the housing can be made substantially in one piece, preferably by injection molding. Other suitable methods are also possible. In principle, machining of the housing of any kind is not necessary. For example, the costs for welding as well as the application of an anti-corrosion agent are eliminated, thereby avoiding a burden on the environment.
    While the known surface protection can be damaged by use, since the upper part is often treated rather roughly, surface damage of the new housing does not affect the corrosion behavior of the material.
    Preference is given to an impact-resistant or impact-resistant plastic, which is also sufficiently resistant to destruction caused by violence. In the suitable material selection for this purpose, the wall thickness of the housing can also be dimensioned appropriately.
    This also applies to a housing which according to the invention consists of metal casting.
    The plastic housing can be manufactured in different colors at no extra cost, for example signal red to optically draw attention to the end of the drawbar of the trailer as an obstacle.
    The housing can be formed such that it is usable for all the upper parts of a ball head coupling that are common on the market. Apart from an advantageous manufacture, a simplified warehouse management is also given here, which also has a positive effect on the cost structure.
    According to yet another development of the invention, it is provided that on both sides of the passage opening for the hand grip at the top, connecting pieces are formed, with piercing openings through which the latch can be guided.
    Corner pieces are preferably used as connecting pieces, as a result of which the bolt is partially covered. A better protection against destruction is achieved in this way, because access to the latch, for example for starting a bolt-cutting machine, is at least made more difficult or even completely impossible.
    The formation of the connecting pieces is selected such that the latch, when not being used, lies outside the operating area for the handle. As a result, the latch has a safe storage location, which, as previously stated, can be a key bolt of a padlock. Thanks to the damping properties of the plastic, no rattling noises from the latch or padlock can occur during driving, as would be the case with a housing made of metal sheet. Also in that regard the invention brings a considerable improvement of the state of the art.
    Further advantageous developments of the invention are characterized in the subclaims.
    An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Hereby shows:
    Figure 1 shows a mounted security device according to the invention in perspective
    Figure 2 shows the security device as a separate unit in a perspective bottom view.
    In the figures, a safety device is shown for the upper part 1 of a ball-head coupling recognizable in figure 1, which can be attached to a drawbar (not shown) of a trailer. The upper part 1 herein shows a coupling housing 2 and a handle 3 pivotally attached thereto, by means of which a ball socket arranged in the coupling housing 2 can be operated for coupling and uncoupling the ball on the vehicle side.
    The safety device 1 has an approximately rectangular housing 4, as can be seen very clearly in figure 2, which is pushed onto the upper part 1 or the coupling housing 2 in the position of use (figure 1).
    The housing 4 consists of two side walls 5 arranged in parallel and spaced apart, a bottom side 6 with a longitudinal one-sided opening 13 and a top side 7 with a passage opening 8 for the handle 3, the passage opening 8 being similar in shape and formation to the opening 13.
    At the top 7, belonging to the two opposite edges of the passage opening 8, the corner pieces 9 are formed on the housing 4 consisting entirely of plastic. The two corner pieces 9 herein have piercing openings, one of which is formed as a longitudinal hole 10 and opposite it as two holes 14 for the passage of a key 12 which forms a bolt and forms part of a padlock 11. The upper, curved parts of the corner pieces 9 run parallel to the padlock 12 in opposite directions.
    In the position of use of the security device, as shown in Figure 1, and where the housing 4 is slid onto the upper part, the padlock 11, i.e. the key bolt 12, lies between the coupling housing 2 and the handle 3, whereby the latter is in its possible swing movement is blocked.

    A safety device for an upper part (1) of a cooling-head coupling attached to a drawbar of a trailer, which handle has a handle (3) and a coupling housing (2), with an almost rectangular, in use position on the upper part (1) slid housing (4), in which a lockable latch is arranged transversely to the longitudinal axis of the housing above the coupling housing, characterized in that the housing (4) is made of metal or plastic as a casting.

    A security device according to claim 1, characterized in that the housing (4) consists of a dimensionally stable plastic.

    A security device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a slot-shaped passage opening (8) for passing through the handle (3) is formed on two opposite edge regions, through which connectors (9) can be formed, through which the latch can be led.

    Security device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the connecting pieces (9) are designed as corner pieces.

    Security device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the connecting pieces (9) have piercing openings which have the shape of two holes (14) at the one connecting piece (9) and the shape of the opposite connecting piece (9) have a longitudinal hole (10).

    Security device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the curved part of the connecting pieces (9) runs parallel to the course of the latch in the opposite direction of the handle (3).

    Security device according to one of the aforementioned claims, characterized in that the latch is formed by a key bolt (12) of a padlock (11).

    Security device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing (4) has a longitudinal one-sided opening (13) on the opposite side of the passage opening (8).

    Security device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the housing (4) is made of an impact-resistant or impact-resistant plastic.
